18 of MY FAVOURITE CAFES TO WORK FROM IN AUSTRALIA

It’s no secret that I love checking out the best and newest cafes on the scene (wherever I am). I love finding gems that tick all the boxes - great food, great coffee, aesthetic interiors, while also being a good place to set up work for a few hours or for the day.

Over the past year, since working for myself full-time and travelling across Australia, it has been the perfect time to start compiling a list of my favourite places to work from. So here are my favourites from QLD, SA & WA.

QUEENSLAND

BRISBANE, QLD

Nodo - Newstead
With a few venues to choose from and the best donuts in Brisbane it’s the perfect spot to set up for the day. Their light filled dining spaces are the perfect space to be inspired. You may even need to grab another donut to takeaway. (They also have some great merch - reusable coffee cups, hats & jumpers).

Paradise - Fortitude Valley
Enjoy a little slice of paradise in the city, with delicious coffee, natural light, greenery, music & local art. With a few power points in the cafe to choose from you can be sure to have a productive day.

The Calile - The Lobby Bar - Fortitude Valley
With something pretty to look at in every direction, from the architecture, interior design, menus, food and drinks you can’t not be inspired working from here. Enjoy a coffee while feeling like you’re on a mid-week getaway. Or even better, make it a midweek staycation! There are plenty of powerpoints at most of the tables.

Salt - Newstead
Filled with corporates during the week from surrounding businesses, it’s the perfect spot to set up for a few hours while you have a bite to eat and a coffee. You may even want to have a second coffee while you’re working here as they are one of the very few places where you can get REAL chocolate flakes on your coffee. *Dogs are also welcome

Industry Beans - Newstead
Enjoy working from an architecturally designed warehouse in Industry Beans largest coffee roastery in Australia. Take in the view of the working coffee roastery, coffee greenhouse and coffee bar from the dining area. They also have an education hub and events space. However, there is only one powerpoint in the venue, so if you get in first you can be sure to have power all day long. Otherwise make sure your battery is fully charged.

SUNSHINE COAST, QLD

White Picket Fence
One of my favourite places on the Sunshine Coast for so many reasons. Delicious food, great coffee and an instagram worthy space. You can plug your laptop in while sitting on the comfy couches inside or for a change of scene you can sit outside in the pretty laneway or outdoor courtyard for some fresh air and sun.

One Block Back
Voted #6 Best Cafe in Queensland by the Courier Mail
Tucked away in the backstreets of the up and coming suburb - Moffat Beach, just a short walk from the beach you will find this converted warehouse turned cafe. Here you will find beautiful and scrumptious meals, treats, coffee and if you work late enough into the day, you can even treat yourself to a cocktail. *The bar benches have powerpoint access.

GOLD COAST, QLD

BSKT Cafe
The best thing about working in a cafe is the endless supply of food and caffeine! This place has it all - located in Mermaid beach (with ocean views) is this super trendy, vegan, Keto, Paleo, Gluten free and puppy friendly cafe. You can sit inside in the air-con, in the backyard garden or on the street front, and they even offer yoga.

Next Door Espresso
The perfect work location to set up for the day stress free among their lush green courtyard. It’s even attached to a luxe bohemian homewares store St Barts perfect for a lunch break and some home inspo. *pooch friendly

SOUTH AUSTRALIA

Port ELLIOT, SA

Yeo Haus Coffee Hole
Located in the cutest and up and coming suburb in South Australia is YeoHaus Coffe Hole, next to the Yeo Haus shop. They have declicious coffees, byron bay cookies and a pop up food venue and the best thing is you can bring your dog.

Mc Laren Vale

Manna
Located in the heart of McLaren Vale Wine Region you will find this little gem. You can enjoy a coffee or choose anything from their menu while working in the light filled and beautifully designed space. There are only a few tables with powerpoints, so it’s recommended to book a table if you’re thinking of working for the day. They even have an event venue next door for those team-building days and conferences if you live in the area. *Closed Tuesdays.

WESTERN AUSTRALIA

ESPERENCE, WA

Downtown Espresso bar

PERTH, QLD

Arrival Hall - Northbridge
One of my favourite places to work is Arrival Hall. As most days it will be filled with people coming in to work for a few hours while enjoying a meal and coffee - making for a great creative environment. Plus you’re surrounded by some of the most beautiful homewares, furniture and decor you will find. I almost leave with something every time.

Epoch- Perth City
Situated At
@wamuseum this large light filled architectural building is the perfect spot to grab some breakfast and a coffee while you get started on work for the day. They have an exquisite seasonal menu that highlights local produce (which i’m all about). You can even check out the museum on your lunch break of afterwork, it’s well worth a look.
